Dad & Me - Feed Families in Need

  • Manzanita Park (at the end of a cul-de-sac) 1260 North Riviera Street Anaheim, CA, 92801 United States

Dads & Kids to assist with Food Distribution which will also include Family Fun festivities since it is Child Abuse Prevention (Blue Ribbon) Month.  This is a collaborative effort for families-in-need that The Raise Foundation (OC's Child Abuse Prevention Council) hosts with the Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim. One of the risk factors that can lead to child abuse and neglect is when families don't have the right nutrition or enough food to sustain them. Another risk factor is the lack of social connections.

You will be utilized in the food distribution area (to set up, distribute food, talk with families) while others will be helping on the family fun side where we need volunteers to run games, run the craft tables, face paint blue ribbons on kids’ faces and hands, assist families with “planting” a large blue pinwheel garden, and assist in forming all attendees into a huge human blue ribbon so we can take a media photo from a roof. Elsa (from Frozen) is said to be attending too…so we’ll need someone to walk around with her if needed.

Recommended Age - Kids ages 8 to high school

WHAT TO WEAR – Ideally, we'd love for all volunteers to wear Blue for Blue Ribbon Month.  Also it will be warm. bring a hat and put on sunscreen
