fodada International Women’s Self Defense Day in collaboration with the YWCA of Orange County :

February 24th @ 10am

We are very excited to announce fodada International Women's Self Defense Day in collaboration with the YWCA of Orange County. This program aims to empower women by providing and facilitating free self-defense classes in communities around the globe.

In the past twelve years, we have reached milestones in this movement. We’ve expanded our locations from right here in Southern California, to as far as Pakistan, Israel, South Africa, India, and more. We have provided these self-defense classes to over 30,000 women in 40 US cities and 22 countries around the globe at no cost, and we are excited to expand our program further this year.

From schools, to community centers, business board rooms and to open fields, fodada partners with individuals, groups, companies and organizations like yours that recognize the importance of women’s empowerment, and are interested in becoming catalysts for this powerful message and movement. There is no cost for the program and our facilitation.

In Collaboration: MyPwr App

Get ready to Meet Your Most Powerful Self!

In collaboration with Fodada, MyPwr will offer a free link to the app for all who register for the 12th annual fodada International Women’s Self-Defense Day.

The MyPwr App is a digital classroom offering a comprehensive range of Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) lessons that cover all the necessary skills and principles taught in traditional ESD classes. Using a range of multimedia formats, the MyPwr App caters to all types of learners. Moreover, the App has a supportive virtual community, a resource center, and an extensive library of instructional videos, making it an all-in-one platform for ESD education. ESD is a comprehensive, trauma-informed, and pro-active approach to violence prevention and resistance education that emphasizes awareness and assertiveness skills in addition to verbal and physical strategies. All the strategies are easy to learn and highly effective in preventing or ending an assault. ESD classes are designed to empower students and build their confidence. Using the 5 key components of Think, Yell, Run, Fight, Tell, ESD seeks to reduce and eliminate cases of interpersonal violence.
